We’ve got that Friday feeling at the SPL! The weekend is nigh, but before we shuffle off, here’s a few choice snatches from a week in poetry…

Shortlists for the renamed Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust Awards have been announced. The judging panel for Scotland’s richest book awards included SPL’s own Lilias. Here’s the lowdown on the poetry shortlist

Magi Gibson, just this very afternoon, was inaugurated as Stirling’s Makar, the city’s first in 500 years.

The book Robyn edited with Andrew Johnston, Twenty Contemporary New Zealand Poets: An Anthology (Carcanet), arrived fresh from the printers, in time for Bill Manhire and Jenny Bornholdt appearing at StAnza

We’re wondering if Ruth Padel will be the first woman to be that professor?

Ryan and Lilias found poems for people at the National Portrait Gallery, and will be there again for the next two Thursday lunchtimes.

We’re tweeting!

Yesterday it was freezing, and today it was warm enough to eat one’s sandwich, sans coat, in Dunbar’s Close
