Have you been to… our Reading Room?

July 6, 2009

A L Kennedy steps into our Reading RoomHave you stepped into our Reading Room recently? A L Kennedy has dropped by today, in a piece about her favourite poems. You’ll also find, in the same series, Alexander McCall Smith’s favourite Auden poems, the top picks of Simon Armitage and Jackie Kay, Michael Longley choosing his favourite Louis MacNeice poems and Michael Hofmann picking his favourite German ones.

These treasures aside, there’s our Classic Poems series, a clutch of golden oldies selected by a fascinating bunch of people, from Amanda Palmer to Phil Kay. Our Ideas Box is chockful of workshop tips and reading goodies, and Novel Approach is a good starting place if you’d like your poetry with a side or prose. The Reading Room is also the home of our podcasts, the next of which is on its way.

We hope you’ll come and hang out in the Reading Room. There’s much there to inspire and delight. Our Reading Room would want to serve you tea in china cups while you sat in a chair like the one below.

Chair of dreams
